Turn The Page Counselling is dedicated to providing compassionate counselling services to individuals struggling with mental health issues. My goal is to empower clients to achieve their personal goals, and to improve their overall quality of life.
Welcome and thank you for being here. It is important for you to choose a therapist with whom you can connect. Someone you can trust and feel at ease around while you work towards healing. So this is my chance to let you know a bit about me.
Writing about yourself is difficult, so I asked others how they would describe me! Here is what they said:
These were beautiful things to hear and I am grateful people see me this way!
I am many things: I am a change maker. I am a voice for others. I am a healer, a teacher, a cheerleader and a truth-teller. I am also a helper; that's literally what my name means - Helper Of Mankind! So it's fitting that I am passionate about helping others - humans and animals!
Like many, I too have had major setbacks in life; work stresses, deep loss, feelings of uncertainty, and have heard myself ask "what do I do now?". I never want anyone else to feel sorrow, loss, or stuck. These can be very sad and lonely feelings. It is important to me that everyone is heard and feels validated. I have instinctively found ways to work though these challenges only to find that these instinctive ways were therapeutic tools and skills I just naturally seemed to connect with and use.
Healing and helping is my passion and I get enjoyment and energy connecting one on one with people.
After attending Vancouver College of Counsellor Training (VCCT) and graduating with high marks in 2021, I went on to work with Moving Forward Family Services (MFFS). This allowed me to work with a varied population with a wide range of mental health challenges, as well as honing my skills as a therapist.
I joined the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT) as a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC), and am regulated by the ACCT Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Always updating my knowledge and training by attending workshops and courses, I am forever learning and passing that knowledge on to my clients. I throughly enjoy expanding my therapeutic insight and feel that humour is just as important in helping the mind to heal. I believe in a holistic approach to mental health, addressing both the mind and body.
It takes time to work though the blankets of stress, anxiety, loss, fear and pain, but together we can create a safe space to let you explore and process your unique story whilst meeting your emotional needs behind your pain.
I would be honoured to walk beside you on this part of your journey.
